For many many years I have heard Animals dont have emotions, they dont feel like humans do. I disagree with this. It has been a rough road for my husband and myself the last 2 weeks. You see 2 weeks ago today we had to put down our beloved pet Storm, he was not only our pet he was our friend, he was my husbands buddy and was my baby. I got him when he was a puppy and we had 13 of the most special years together. When he fell ill neither of us wanted to admit it was happening but the day came when we could not lie to ourselves anymore and we could not put him through anymore. The day he went to the vet,,,,I took his face in my hands Wand I said to him plz tell me we are doing the right thing Storm, are you ready to go home now? He looked at me with his old eyes and licked my cheek which I had taught him meant kiss. He then turned away from me, I told him I will find you again my friend, one day very soon Ill find you. I plan on keeping that promise to my baby. Sadly on that day he quietly went to sleep and his strong spirit went over the rainbow bridge into summerland.  We had storm cremated and his ashes came home to us this week. His memory will fill our hearts forever, no matter how many pets we get. I dedicate this blog to you my friend Storm Fox……May your spirit play free from pain until the day we meet again…..

I am writing this for a various number of reasons, one being to show that no matter how long we work at something or how old we are we never stop learning. I hope you can all take your own special thoughts from this blog and enjoy it

As many of you well know I have been working as a professional medium for many years, over 20 actually and the things I learn daily always amaze me. This past year personally for me and our family has had its share of up and downs. Alot of tears shed, alot of prayers said and answered. At certain points of the year my faith has been tested to the fullest, sometimes it weakened and sometimes it grew stronger. I always seemed to make it through though, but at a cost to my physical and emotional well being. Which I am strongly working on daily. November of this year my beloved husband and myself became proud owners of a new home, a new start, new energy, and new beginnings. It was when we moved into the house I noticed I had a new focus….I have always loved nature and the wonders she offers. I especially am fond of all creatures ( well maybe not bugs or  snakes,,lol ) butterflies have always been an amazing and beautiful creature to me. Since we moved into the house I have been extremely focused on making a butterfly room. I dont know why, its just something that started when we moved here. I have to have them hung on the walls and surrounding me. I know from my teachings and I have always told my clients that butterfly means change, a spreading of your wings and learning to fly. To reach your highest goals and know that even if your wings are not strong enough at first to get you there eventually you will make it.  Butterfly also means coming out of your cocoon and showing your beauty, showing your strength and not keeping yourself locked up inside your personal cocoon.

I feel that this may also be one of the reasons that I am so attracted to the beauties of nature, but to me it goes deeper. I need to change and grow with a lot of things and people in my life. Some will be closer and some will sadly be left behind. My business will change immensely,it will take flight and come out of its own cocoon with in the coming weeks and months. I myself have begun to feel an inner change happening. I feel lighter, I want to spread my own wings and show others how to do the same. Butterfly has a strong place in my life right now, and hopefully for some time to come.

I wanted to write this to show everyone, the times are changing both around us and within us, butterfly comes to help us feel our own wings, to reach our own goals and heights. So spread your wings little butterflies and soar to the highest, and the best. Knowing the whole time that no matter how high you soar their will always be someone there to catch you.

Blessings everyone! I wanted to finally sit down and write about something I see happening on a day to day basis that astounds me and sometimes even makes me want to scream. This subject is how the almighty dollar is effecting and changing our lives on a spiritual level.

We would all love to live in a world of positive happy energy both inside and outside our homes, unfortunately in this day and age sometimes that is just not possible. Thats where the to you comes in and sometimes the cost is unwarranted, actually more times then not it is unwarranted. I am speaking of home cleansing and personal cleansing. There are tons of websites out there that will send you videos or DVDS on how to rid yourself and your home of unwanted and negative energy. They will even do this by phone and if you are scared enough they will come to your home. No i am not speaking of Paranormal Investigations. I am speaking of the people who have learned that loving souls just like yourself want nothing more to live in peace and harmony. Some are very legitimate in their claims and some are scams. How do you know which is which? You dont thats the problem. The cost they are asking maybe one clue, but I would ask everyone too check out the people you are about to deal with thoroughly. More times then not, these people are doing it for the wrong reason and that is the dollar sign, which can bring more negative energy and unrest to both you and your home. As with anything ask for references, dont just take the persons word for it. There is also something else you can do….and that is….Do the cleansing yourself. There are many ways out there to cleanse both yourself and your home, that have the same if not better effect then allowing and paying a stranger to do it for you. It is your home, your person, you reclaim it and rid yourself of all negative energy that may be around you. By negative energy I am not only speaking of spirits, I am speaking of the people we come into contact with on a daily basis. Lets face it not everyone out there is a happy soul, wanting the highest and the best for everyone around them. Below I am going to list some simple easy techniques YOU can do yourself and it wont cost you a dime other then the supplies you need to do this.

Cleansing with Salt: Simple table salt works for this, go to your doorway and on the threshold of your doorstep pour a line of salt. As u do this say a simple prayer, using your own words or these say, With this salt I protect any negative energy from entering my home, may the great spirit and my angels bless this barrier and only allow those with love and light to enter my home.

Outside your home going clockwise, take the sale and pour it onto the ground in a circle around your home. As you walk say, I protect my home and all inside it with this shield from negative energy, coming from all sources, living, passed, and even the weather. I call upon the heavenly father, angels and all my protectors to bless this barrier. Circle your home 3 times and say the same prayer each time.

Inside your home going from room to room, light a white candle, bless it with some rose oil or jasmine before you start. Open all windows while doing this cleansing. In each room hold the candle in your hand pic the light from the candle flame growing outwards, filling the room until it is full of light. Saying a cleansing prayer, I protect this room from everything and everyone negative that enters here, if there is any negative energy in this room I cast you out with the light of the heavenly father. I call on all my angels to fill this room with their love, healing and guidance blessing anyone who enters here.

Smudging ( burning white sage) is also a great way to cleanse and bless your home. Light the sage stick and blow out the flame using only the smoke, blow it around the room and pay close attention to the corners and closets. Say a prayer while doing this as well.

Cleansing yourself: Smudging works well for this also by lighting the sage and blowing out the flame use the smoke and bring it into your heart chakra, take your hand and bring the smoke all around you, so that yoou have protected and cleansed your entire body.

Taking a bath in rose oil is another good cleansing, for your personal self, performing a basic meditation of the water running over you and removing all the negative energy you have picked up during your day.

There are several ways to do any of these, most u can find online or shoot me an email and Ill help you with your personal need. You do not need to shell out hundreds even thousands of dollars to do something you can do yourself. We are being bombarded with ads selling cleansings and classes that we do not need, we can learn ourself by doing something simple as reading a book or a very knowledgeable website.

I write this in hopes of saving you my readers some money that is not needed to be spent. I hope you have gained something from this and remember your energy is stronger then a strangers coming into your home. If you, the homeowner do the cleansing yourself using your own energy it is always stronger.

Well its that time of year again, a time of renewal and new energy, we are coming into a time of spiritual growth unlike any year we have seen before. As we all know the holidays can be a very stressful time. Running around to find that perfect gift, to make the perfect meal for our families can put added stress onto what should be a joyous time. The key is to finding what destresses you, and make some time for yourself in between the hustle and bustle of the upcoming holidays. The stress may not even come from gift shopping or the meal preparation but it may also come from where to get the money to make Christmas something special for everyone. In economic times such as these many people are already feeling the pressure of not being able to provide the Christmas for their families. If this is the case for you remember it isnt the size of the gift or how expensive it is but the thought that matters. Many people have got back to making gifts for their families and friends. To be perfectly frank I adore this idea, when you do this for someone it puts a little of you in the gift. Going to dollar stores or flea markets and putting together a basket for someone of their favorite things is the perfect  gift to give to someone. It not only shows you took the time to put thought and energy into that person, but that you remember the things that they love and cherish.

No matter what you do for someone they will love it because it came from you!!!! The amount you spend is NOT important.

Now finding quiet time from now till the end of the holidays may seem impossible, but to keep you grounded and not stressed to the max. it is highly important. At the end of a busy day, maybe  curl up in your favorite chair when the rest of the house is quiet with a cup of old fashioned hot chocolate and your favorite book. Just that small peacefulness with allow the stress of the day to flow out of you. Throw in some of your favorite candles with soft peaceful, calming scents will add to your peace time. No matter what you like to do to find your peace, now during this holiday time it is crucial we all find that something.

Another suggestion is to sit and make some home made Christmas cards for family and friends that are far away, or even near. Put your thoughts for a happy holiday for them into the card, make each card separate and unique to the people your sending it to. A few pieces of paper, some glitter pens or paint and you have the makings of a wonderful hand made card.

We all need to take that peaceful time for ourselves at holiday time, slow down and remember in the end, everything will turn out beautifully whether it is store bought or hand made. Christmas is about families and enjoying the time with yours, you cant do that if your running around ready to pull your hair out.

I like to include loved ones who have passed away in our family holidays by setting a place for them at the table and sharing a memory from everyone of that person, this reduces stress and grief at holiday time. You feel they have been included and chances are they are right there with you all enjoying the holiday time with you.

Just remember to slow down, breathe and take a few mins at the end of every day to unwind and destress dont let it build. Enjoy this time sharing, laughing, and loving the time with family. Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas from us here at readingsbyjody.com

I choose Hawk as the picture for this blog because hawk represents strength. Which leads me to the topic of this blog. Over the last 3 months I have had a few experiences that have knocked me for a loop and at times I was starting to think that I did not have the strength to get through them all enough to be back. Yet I did and here I am. Let me tell you what has happened…..

Its all started at the end of August when our oldest most dearest pet Storm became ill and it seemed like we may have to put him down. That was the beginning of a very long downhill spiral for me. The next thing came when we were in the US visiting friends and my husband was in a bad auto accident ( he is ok now) that was something that set off anxieties from a previous accident we had that took me several years to mentally and physically recover from. The next thing was our move, we had decided to give up the rental home in the country and move in with my mother and her male friend for awhile, till we could save the money to move back to the US which is where my husband is from , plus all our friends and granddaughter live. This was the top of the  stress for me. I started having anxiety attacks out of the blue and no doctor could figure out why, but it was an accumulation of everything piling up on me that set it off. I allowed it to take over and became very ill, I stopped eating, I stopped working here on the website, everything in my life ceased, even my radio show stopped. I had hit my lowest. Then after months of this, I saw him, Hawk ( which I previously blogged about).

He sent me the message of strength and determination, of staying true to ones self and not letting others or situations around me make up how I feel inside and out. It was like a light switch went off in my head. It was the boost I needed to get me back on track. Each night before bed I called upon all my angels to surround and wrap me in their loving comfort a and help heal the emotional  wounds from the last few months. It was a slow process but I felt them envelop me each night and my sleep pattern changed. I slept better then I had in a long time even before all this started. I woke in the morning with a new found appreciation for life and myself. Each day i got stronger and stronger, and decided it was time to come back to the website to begin again. I had and still have that strength to put not only into the site but myself as well. I feel my abilities have never been stronger then they are now As I sit here writing this I know with the help of all my spiritual helpers and my hawk messenger I am getting back to that place inside of myself that can over come anything that is thrown at me. I may stumble once or twice but i shall not let it keep me down for long. it is the knowing that I am strong and I have the courage to face the new day with a smile that keeps me going. Today I look forward to every single day and the one day when we move home dont feel so stressful to me anymore.

This entire blog was to show you that even someone who has my abilities can stumble along the way, we just need to take time to slow down, look at our inner selves and take the strength we all have inside of us and bring that forth. Nothing nor nobody can take that from you ever. It is also important to take the time to heal from our wounds whether they be physical or emotional, dont let them scar us so deeply we cease to function. We all have the strength it takes to over come that. It is just a matter of knowing you do and reaching way down harnessing it and working with it, helping it too grow. So no matter what life throws at you, know, you can over come it with the courage and strength you carry inside. Every day I awake with a smile now, and so can you.

I will never tell you that this will be easy, because it truly isn’t, but I can share how you can start the process on a small scale. When you wake every morning think of one positive aspect or person in your life and focus on that. Bring more and more positive thoughts in as the days go by and you will slowly feel a strengthening inside yourself. Surround yourself with people who will lift you up at your lowest point, find a counselor, or mentor to help during the low times that will remind you just how loving and strong you truly are. Each passing day will bring more and more inner strength to deal with what life can toss at you. One step at a time.

It is that time of year again, as Autumn replaces the sunshine of Summer, the leaves are changing to glorious colours, and the fall flowers have replaced summer ones. This is a time to grab your jacket and take a walk through Mother Natures beauty, watch as as the little animals scurry to get ready for winter, watch as the birds of summer fly south, and all  the summer time wildlife prepares for the changes that lay ahead.  This is a time for reflection, a time to look back at  the memories that you have made over the summer months and so fondly have stored  them in your heart.

As Autumn approaches and the chill in the air replaces the warmth of the summers day, remember it is also a time of rest for some, the trees will be shedding their leaves in time to rest and prepare for next summer, animals will go into hiding to rest and prepare for their new families of the summer as well. Dont think of Autumn as time of closure, their is new life coming about, with the fall harvests, fall flowers, holiday dinners such as Thanksgiving, and the fun time such as Halloween, where all the little ghosts and goblins wear their chosen costume and laughter fills the night air. Autumn is also a time of spirit. When the veil is thinning and the loved ones on the other side can communicate the easiest. Welcome them, and enjoy the little time you have together once again.

I love this time of year, I love the colors and the beauty mother nature produces for us, as she prepares for her slumber in the coming months. Enjoy this time with family and friends, share an outing with them, a walk or a jump in the fresh raked leaves. It is a time of memories to share with upcoming generations.

Mother nature has exploded with color for all of us, take time to go out and enjoy every second you can and as you do, remember the Guides, Angels and loved ones that walk with you….May your Autumn be full of laughter and memories.

Here at readingsbyjody.com I am always trying to teach people that each life experience has a lesson attached to it. No matter the topic or the lesson it is always right there in front of our faces. We just need to take the time to slow down, breathe and try and see what the universe and spirit is trying to tell us.Some of these lessons can be life altering and some can be moments and things that we have been over looking for sometime.

Example: It started out as a wonderful get away labor day weekend to be spent with good friends and family and celebrate my birthday with the people we love, and it was going just that way. The day before we were meant to come home I was awoken by my gf wanting me to come with her as the police had contacted her and my husband was in the emergency room after a car accident. Fortunately he wasn’t seriously  injured but it shook me to the core for several days. As 5 years before that both him and myself has been in another accident and this one had brought me right back to that time and place.

I pulled away from my work at readingsbyjody.com for several days, since I couldn’t seem to get back to my center to help anyone. My focus was lost and I was feeling somewhat distant from all my guides and angels at this time. I needed to know and find the answer to why this seemed to keep happening to us. Days past and no answers came, no matter what i asked silence. I was to find out the answer for myself if what I felt. After much meditation and getting angry at myself for not seeing the clear picture, one day it hit me. I was packing for our up coming move and it hit me, “things”, the things in our life were becoming more important then”we” as a couple were. We were letting our lives and things come between us, In spirits infinite wisdom they were showing us in the only manner the two of us would understand just how important we are to one another and how much we loved one another.It took the loss of our vehicle ( another thing). No matter how busy our lives become, and how many things we have to do, stop, take time to appreciate the loved ones we have in our lives. Enjoy life to the fullest with every single person we love, and have in our lives and dont take one moment for granted. Messages are sent in subtle and sometimes very bold ways, it took me many hard long days to figure this one out but thankfully I did…Now im back helping others and working back on the website again. I love my family, I love my life and mostly I love my husband…..Thanks the Angels for him every single day.

AKASHIC RECORDS: Sometimes called the book of life. A record kept by each soul that includes words spoken, deeds, and thoughts. This is an eternal record of every experience and life the soul encounters.

ARCHANGELS: Angels of the highest order, they are the Angels closest to God.

AURA:  The colorful electro-magnetic field that radiates from and around a physical body. Sometimes referred to as the “over-soul”, it is the part of the soul that can be seen with the eye.

CHAKRAS: The human body has seven energy centers called Chakras. A psychic can see the colorful energy centers in a persons aura or spiritual body. The spiritual energy centers are directly linked to the physical health of the human body. When in perfect order they are  seen as bright, vibrant vortexes of energy.

CHANNEL: A person who has the ability to access the universal consciousness and translate information from spirits.

CLAIR AUDIENCE: The ability to hear sounds from the Spirit realm.

CLAIRVOYANCE: The ability to clearly see spirits or symbols and relay the information.

DEJA VU: A soul memory recall of a familiar place or person from a past life. A past life event memory. A current event that evokes a memory of the event happening before. A memory that has taken place in the spiritual plane that is now taking place in the physical realm.

EGO: Our conscious mind that passes judgment and makes decisions based on appearances or intelligence.

GUARDIAN ANGELS: A specific angel that was assigned to each of us. They never leave us from our birth, they help and protect us during our life and continue with us through the transformation we call death and into the afterlife.

KARMA: The Universal Law of cause and effect. What you sow, so you shall reap. Every action causes a reaction.

MEDIUM: A person who has the ability to communicate with the other-side: departed loved ones, Angels, and Spirit guides, and other souls residing in the spirit world.

NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE: When the physical body experiences  death and the soul leaves the body, travels to the spirit realm and then returns to the body with the remembrance of the experience.

PSYCHIC: A person who has thei ability to “read” another persons energy or vibrations and relay accurate information about their past, present and future.

PSYCHIC EMPATHY; The ability to feel the emotions and physical sensations of another, either spirit or of a human. ( Interesting enough we talked about just this very topic last week on the radio show, The Psychic Coffee Hour, on themixtalk.com).

PSYCHOMETRY: The ability to “read” objects or photos  by tuning into the vibration or energy field surrounding that object and receiving information about it. ( This ability is used widely when working on missing person cases).

REINCARNATION: The rebirth of a soul into a new body.

SILVER CORD: The etheric cord that attaches the physical body to the spiritual body, the soul.

SOUL: The spirit , the essence, or core of our being that is eternal.

SPIRIT GUIDE: A spirit that helps us with a specific aspect of our spiritual development while on earth. We each have one Spirit Guide that stays with us from birth through death. Other Spirit Guides are assigned to  us for different periods of time to help us through different phases of life.

SPIRITUAL READING: A personal counseling session with a Psychic Medium whom chooses to receive information only from God and his helpers.

SUBCONSCIOUS: A part of the mind that holds all memories. The subconscious mind acts as a filter for the conscious mind.

THE COUNCIL: A highly evolved group of twelve Ascended Masters, sometimes referred to as “The Elders”. They are in charge of humanity”s Karma. The Council is in charge of ” The Book of Life”.

VICTIM SOUL: A person who has chosen to soak up a large amount of Karma for humanity.


Over the many years I have been working as a spiritual adviser I have seen a lot of online readers come and go, I have also seen a lot of emotional and monetary damage done to people because of some very unscrupulous people calling themselves psychic readers. I know of many sites, which I shall not name, that do not even test the people they hire. How is that helping people when the person giving the reading may or may not even be psychic? That’s why here at readingsbyjody.com we test each and every single reader that comes on board with us. So you know no matter what expert you choose is at the top of their field and knows how to help no matter what the situation may be. Below you will find a couple of examples to show the kind of things to be on guard for when dealing with a psychic of your choosing.

Carrie books a reading with an expert on a site, and she explains no matter what she does, no relationship has every worked out for her. She wonders why? The psychic seems to  hit on her energy really well and Carrie is amazed at her readings. The psychic then tells her she shall make and bless a candle for Carrie to light as well as  a prayer to say as she lights the candle, sounds good right? Here’s the catch, The psychic then tells Carrie these are hand made candles and that she charges a fee for them. She sells each specially made candle for $200 and each one is blessed and guaranteed to bring love into her life. Now the truth: No psychic sells candles for any such thing, they will look into your energy and your situation and help you see where the problems lie and why Carrie has had so many problems finding the man she wishes to spend her life with. We help to guide and look, suggest certain  things that Carrie may need to change for herself. A real psychic reading no matter whether it is on the net or face to face is one set fee or donation, there are never any hidden charges or extras to pay for. As seen in the next example if more money is requested walk out. You can try and ask for your initial fee back, but the chances are you wont get it so just walk out and never return.

Scam #2-  Joy, her life is in complete shambles, financially, and emotionally so she has decided to consult with a psychic in her area to find out whats going on and how she can turn things around for herself. She goes in, sits down, meets the psychic and things seem to be going rather well. The psychic seems to have connected to her on a few levels and when it comes to the reasons Joy has consulted the psychic for, then it takes a different turn. The psychic tells Joy that in a past life her family had a curse put upon  them which explains her situation now, in order for her to turn things around the psychic has asked for more money to do a cleansing spell, she explains it is for supplies that is needed for the spell. Not knowing any different Joy agrees to do so and hands her the extra funds. The psychic informs her the spell shall be performed in a few days and will contact Joy when it has been competed. Joy leaves and waits for her call. A few days later the psychic calls her and explains the curse is a lot more complicated then she first anticipated and therefore she needs more money, joy starts to get suspicious but she agrees. This scenario keeps going and going until Joy is out over 3 grand. She then finally puts a stop to it and refuses to give her anymore money. Now since the psychic has Joys phone number now she calls her repeatedly and tells her if she does not do this her life will never be better and things will get much worse. Luckily for Joy she listens to her “gut” and hangs up never to deal with her again. This scam is one of the oldest in the book, and although many say they wouldn’t fall for it sadly many do. These so called psychics  pray on peoples fears and weaknesses, don’t fall for it. Once your asked for more money walk away, once the word “curse” is mentioned you know your being scammed, Leave immediately.

Now that you know what to look for, your task is MUCH easier. But it’s still important to be vigilant. Watch out for the following:

• If you want to have any kind of psychic reading, always ask the price before starting. It certainly shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg.
• If a fortune teller says you have a curse, need a lucky charm or should have special candles and/or prayers said for you, don’t just walk away — RUN!
• Delete ant spam emails from an alleged psychic.

If this one article saves one person heartache and money then it has done its job. Go in with an open mind but also be very careful of whats being told to you.
