For many many years I have heard Animals dont have emotions, they dont feel like humans do. I disagree with this. It has been a rough road for my husband and myself the last 2 weeks. You see 2 weeks ago today we had to put down our beloved pet Storm, he was not only our pet he was our friend, he was my husbands buddy and was my baby. I got him when he was a puppy and we had 13 of the most special years together. When he fell ill neither of us wanted to admit it was happening but the day came when we could not lie to ourselves anymore and we could not put him through anymore. The day he went to the vet,,,,I took his face in my hands Wand I said to him plz tell me we are doing the right thing Storm, are you ready to go home now? He looked at me with his old eyes and licked my cheek which I had taught him meant kiss. He then turned away from me, I told him I will find you again my friend, one day very soon Ill find you. I plan on keeping that promise to my baby. Sadly on that day he quietly went to sleep and his strong spirit went over the rainbow bridge into summerland.  We had storm cremated and his ashes came home to us this week. His memory will fill our hearts forever, no matter how many pets we get. I dedicate this blog to you my friend Storm Fox……May your spirit play free from pain until the day we meet again…..

I am writing this for a various number of reasons, one being to show that no matter how long we work at something or how old we are we never stop learning. I hope you can all take your own special thoughts from this blog and enjoy it

As many of you well know I have been working as a professional medium for many years, over 20 actually and the things I learn daily always amaze me. This past year personally for me and our family has had its share of up and downs. Alot of tears shed, alot of prayers said and answered. At certain points of the year my faith has been tested to the fullest, sometimes it weakened and sometimes it grew stronger. I always seemed to make it through though, but at a cost to my physical and emotional well being. Which I am strongly working on daily. November of this year my beloved husband and myself became proud owners of a new home, a new start, new energy, and new beginnings. It was when we moved into the house I noticed I had a new focus….I have always loved nature and the wonders she offers. I especially am fond of all creatures ( well maybe not bugs or  snakes,,lol ) butterflies have always been an amazing and beautiful creature to me. Since we moved into the house I have been extremely focused on making a butterfly room. I dont know why, its just something that started when we moved here. I have to have them hung on the walls and surrounding me. I know from my teachings and I have always told my clients that butterfly means change, a spreading of your wings and learning to fly. To reach your highest goals and know that even if your wings are not strong enough at first to get you there eventually you will make it.  Butterfly also means coming out of your cocoon and showing your beauty, showing your strength and not keeping yourself locked up inside your personal cocoon.

I feel that this may also be one of the reasons that I am so attracted to the beauties of nature, but to me it goes deeper. I need to change and grow with a lot of things and people in my life. Some will be closer and some will sadly be left behind. My business will change immensely,it will take flight and come out of its own cocoon with in the coming weeks and months. I myself have begun to feel an inner change happening. I feel lighter, I want to spread my own wings and show others how to do the same. Butterfly has a strong place in my life right now, and hopefully for some time to come.

I wanted to write this to show everyone, the times are changing both around us and within us, butterfly comes to help us feel our own wings, to reach our own goals and heights. So spread your wings little butterflies and soar to the highest, and the best. Knowing the whole time that no matter how high you soar their will always be someone there to catch you.

Welcome to Moose totem….Most people think Moose is to put it bluntly as dumb as a box of rocks but if you watch and listen to Moose closely it has a lot to say about you. They are a strong force of the forest and have strong messages for you. Just remember you don’t have to get close to hear these messages as Moose can and will be very aggressive when approached, especially a mom moose with her baby. Moose medicine teaches us the value of self-esteem, and of rewarding ourselves and others for a job well done. Moose walks with a measured and regal gait with his head held high for he knows he has value and dignity.

Moose people do not hesitate to encourage others to learn and grow for they are not threatened with the thought that someone might get to be better at a thing; the student surpassing the teacher as it were. Moose will not only encourage others to learn, he will jump in and help teach, and will show by example. Moose people will never ask others to do what they will not do themselves.

Moose knows how damaging unkind criticism and nitpicking is to the spirit of someone trying to learn and do their best. Moose will look for any excuse to tell the world about something that has been done well.

Moose does not suffer from false shyness or inhibitions or the tendency to make light of his own accomplishments. He is not coy about his successes. Moose says, “I worked hard to do this, and I did it well. I’m proud of myself”. When you acknowledge that your own acceptance of a thing well done, and satisfying your own standards, really is important to you, you are on the road to building a bedrock of solid self-esteem. Remember that “self” esteem comes from the inside out — not from outside sources.

These are just some of the messages that moose has to offer to you. it is all about you and how you view yourself and treat others. So when moose comes into your life you know it is time to sing your own praises and be proud of yourself and your accomplishments.

Blessings everyone! I wanted to finally sit down and write about something I see happening on a day to day basis that astounds me and sometimes even makes me want to scream. This subject is how the almighty dollar is effecting and changing our lives on a spiritual level.

We would all love to live in a world of positive happy energy both inside and outside our homes, unfortunately in this day and age sometimes that is just not possible. Thats where the to you comes in and sometimes the cost is unwarranted, actually more times then not it is unwarranted. I am speaking of home cleansing and personal cleansing. There are tons of websites out there that will send you videos or DVDS on how to rid yourself and your home of unwanted and negative energy. They will even do this by phone and if you are scared enough they will come to your home. No i am not speaking of Paranormal Investigations. I am speaking of the people who have learned that loving souls just like yourself want nothing more to live in peace and harmony. Some are very legitimate in their claims and some are scams. How do you know which is which? You dont thats the problem. The cost they are asking maybe one clue, but I would ask everyone too check out the people you are about to deal with thoroughly. More times then not, these people are doing it for the wrong reason and that is the dollar sign, which can bring more negative energy and unrest to both you and your home. As with anything ask for references, dont just take the persons word for it. There is also something else you can do….and that is….Do the cleansing yourself. There are many ways out there to cleanse both yourself and your home, that have the same if not better effect then allowing and paying a stranger to do it for you. It is your home, your person, you reclaim it and rid yourself of all negative energy that may be around you. By negative energy I am not only speaking of spirits, I am speaking of the people we come into contact with on a daily basis. Lets face it not everyone out there is a happy soul, wanting the highest and the best for everyone around them. Below I am going to list some simple easy techniques YOU can do yourself and it wont cost you a dime other then the supplies you need to do this.

Cleansing with Salt: Simple table salt works for this, go to your doorway and on the threshold of your doorstep pour a line of salt. As u do this say a simple prayer, using your own words or these say, With this salt I protect any negative energy from entering my home, may the great spirit and my angels bless this barrier and only allow those with love and light to enter my home.

Outside your home going clockwise, take the sale and pour it onto the ground in a circle around your home. As you walk say, I protect my home and all inside it with this shield from negative energy, coming from all sources, living, passed, and even the weather. I call upon the heavenly father, angels and all my protectors to bless this barrier. Circle your home 3 times and say the same prayer each time.

Inside your home going from room to room, light a white candle, bless it with some rose oil or jasmine before you start. Open all windows while doing this cleansing. In each room hold the candle in your hand pic the light from the candle flame growing outwards, filling the room until it is full of light. Saying a cleansing prayer, I protect this room from everything and everyone negative that enters here, if there is any negative energy in this room I cast you out with the light of the heavenly father. I call on all my angels to fill this room with their love, healing and guidance blessing anyone who enters here.

Smudging ( burning white sage) is also a great way to cleanse and bless your home. Light the sage stick and blow out the flame using only the smoke, blow it around the room and pay close attention to the corners and closets. Say a prayer while doing this as well.

Cleansing yourself: Smudging works well for this also by lighting the sage and blowing out the flame use the smoke and bring it into your heart chakra, take your hand and bring the smoke all around you, so that yoou have protected and cleansed your entire body.

Taking a bath in rose oil is another good cleansing, for your personal self, performing a basic meditation of the water running over you and removing all the negative energy you have picked up during your day.

There are several ways to do any of these, most u can find online or shoot me an email and Ill help you with your personal need. You do not need to shell out hundreds even thousands of dollars to do something you can do yourself. We are being bombarded with ads selling cleansings and classes that we do not need, we can learn ourself by doing something simple as reading a book or a very knowledgeable website.

I write this in hopes of saving you my readers some money that is not needed to be spent. I hope you have gained something from this and remember your energy is stronger then a strangers coming into your home. If you, the homeowner do the cleansing yourself using your own energy it is always stronger.

Well folks as mush as we didnt want it to come the snow has arrived here in Ontario, and LOTS of it. We all knew eventually it was coming but lets face it we all hoped it would dust the ground then leave till springtime. Yes it is cold and wet and right now with the winds at full force there is not a lot to do outside, but once the winds let up it leaves us with a beautiful scene of mother natures bounty. This is the time to spend with family and friends doing all the fun stuff wintertime brings, snowmobiling, sledding, skating, making snowmen and more. Some of my best childhood memories were when we played in the snow making forts, snow angels and sledding. Have you made some childhood memories with your family yet? Now is the time…… Bundle the kids up, and head out doors to welcome the newly fallen snow. Lay in the snow and make pretty snow angels, roll up some snow balls and make a snow man…..There are many wonderful things to do….

This is also a great time to reconnect with your inner child and leave all the adult stresses behind. Remember what it was like to be a kid again and to laugh and play in the snow. Not only will it make you smile but it will rejuvenate your energy, and bring back some wonderful memories you may have long forgotten. As adults we think of the snow as bothersome and a hindrance but when seen through child eyes it is a wonderland of laughter.

As it gets closer to the Christmas holidays this is also the perfect time to head out, plan a family day and pick out that perfect Christmas tree. What memories that would hold for your children, and remember to take your camera along for those unexpected moments….We here at readingsbbyjody.com will be here during the times when you need an uplifting message, or a kind word.. In continuing our series on totem animals my next choice is the ever lovable chipmunk. Chipmunk has a lot to teach us as totem animals.

Chipmunks are very curious and take the time to explore everything that comes across their path. They are inquisitive, fearless and playful. They do what they want to do in their own time frame. They are quite vocal often drawing attention to themselves. Chipmunk medicine people will not tolerate being told what to do or when to do it.
They make good leaders and spokespersons.

When a chipmunk is twelve weeks old they have the ability to be on their own. The symbolism of the number twelve or the combined numbers of one and two should be studied by those with this totem. Cycles occur regularly in a persons life and those with chipmunk medicine will often find that changes will occur in their life approximately every twelve weeks or twelve months. Knowing this gives you forewarning and the opportunity for preparedness.

By watching the chipmunks behavior much can be learned. They appear to scamper to and fro always in a hurry to get somewhere. Starting in one direction, circling around and arriving back where they started from. There is no detail that goes unnoticed by the chipmunk as they circle around and see beyond the obvious. Chipmunk teaches the art of observation and appropriate movement.

Chipmunks have an air of independence and certainty about them. Their inquisitive nature leads them into unexplored territory and their detailed mind leaves no stone unturned. If chipmunk is your totem pay attention to how your energy is being used. Are you thoughts constructive or destructive? Are your fears keeping you from playing and enjoying life? Are you in charge of your life or have you given you authority over to another?

Chipmunk  is the messenger of many realms. If this is your totem you are on your way to self discovery.
